Half Marathon
A marathon and even a half marathon is a great form of exercise. These events can leave one with an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment.
The Georgia marathon offers both full and half marathons. Both marathons require an entry fee but the full marathon is a little more costly.
A half marathon is a running event that with a distance of about half of a full out marathon. The distance for this marathon is approximately 13 miles. This is run mostly on roads in the community. The half marathon has become more and more popular because although it is a long distance it does not require the extensive amount of training as a marathon.
A marathon has a standardized distance of 26 miles and 385 yards. This distance became standardized in the year 1921. The marathon dates back to the ancient Greek times and is the namesake of the Battle of Marathon. Marathons in which are larger and more publicized could have tens of thousands of participants.
